“Resource Spotlight Monday”: Today, the Gender and Identity Factors Platform (GIFP) features “Gender and Extremism in Ethiopia”.
This paper explores the roles of women in violent extremism and terrorism, while also understanding how women contribute to counter-terrorism and preventing/countering violent extremism (CT/PCVE) efforts in Ethiopia. In particular, the paper poses three series of recommendations pertinent to reform within the larger security sector in relation to CT/PCVE; intersectional analysis in research and policy development; and investment in locally-driven approaches CT/PCVE initiatives.
