2020 Civil Society Roadmap on Women, Peace and Security.

The briefing reports that WPS agenda has only been engaged in a superficial and inconsistent manner over the past 20 years. They find that the security council continues to make decisions based on gender-blind information and there is a failure to include gender-sensitive analysis in conflict reporting. They also found that women’s experiences are securitized and instrumentalized at the UN security council. This Roadmap offers recommendations on how to improve actions related to the WPS agenda according to six principles, including: gender analysis of conflicts; women’s leadership and meaningful participation; an intersectional approach to gender inequalities; supporting WBO and CSO in CT and PCVE and WPS; good governance and accountability for WPS.
